Pelican's A4 Oil/Soft Pastel white out & Chalk

This was just a little experiment I did today playing around with different mediums to see the effects. Had a lot of fun with this one.

Still Life Oil

Nearly forgot to share this one with you guys. This one is not original and is based on a another works but the artist is unknown. It was a lot of fun doing this one and a great help in practicing skills.

Kangaroo A4 Ink and Soft Pastel

Another quick study but felt like something different so for another warm up exercise this morning did a Kangaroo based on pop art format. Used Ink to do the markings and added a little soft pastel to add a touch of colour for interest.

Davidson A4 Oil Pastel

Davidson is my best friend in the world so often do him as a quick study. This was just a quick warm up piece I did this morning to get the figures moving. Its based on negative space using the black paper to create the image with a few scribbles here and there. Was very happy with the outcome.

Commission Piece I'm working on Soft Pastel A3

This one I have been ask to do for a friend as he plans to give it to someone as a thank you. I've only just started it so is a work in progress and will take some time as there is a lot of work in it. It's a family portrait and so far have sketched it lightly in graphite and have began to just block in the colours using soft pastel. Its A3 in size.

Jay soft pastel A3 & Eric Graphite A4

For Xmas as a gift I decided to paint my friends son in soft pastel. I was reasonable happy with the outcome on this one, but choice not to post it here until now in case my friend looked in on this site as not sure if he looks here or not. I also did a sketch of my friend himself and was quiet happy with the outcome of this one also. It was not only a pleasure doing these pictures but was a real thrill to see the smile they brought to my friends face.
